Abstract

The combination of transcranial magnetic stimulation and electroenencephalography (TMS-EEG) is a powerful novel technique to measure brain responses elicited by non-invasive brain stimulation more directly than previously possible. This provides new insight into excitability and connectivity of the human brain. Real-time EEG analysis can also be used to trigger TMS brain-state dependently (EEG-TMS). This closed-loop stimulation enables novel studies on brain excitability and plasticity induction. This talk will provide compelling examples for either technique.
