Two first prize winners of the Bernstein-CorTec Award
November 4, 2020: Prof. Kerstin Krieglstein, Rector of the University of Freiburg, presents the first edition of the newly established Bernstein-CorTec Prize for Computational Neuroscience and Neurotechnology to two young researchers, Júlia Gallinaro and Katharina Heining. As the award ceremony could not take place in person we thought about bringing the awardees to you instead. On February 16th at 5 pm (CET) the Bernstein Center will host a Special Bernstein Seminar which features the presentations of both awardeesin virtual format.

4. November 2020: Prof. Kerstin Krieglstein, Rektorin der Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, verleiht am Nachmittag des 4. November, Corona-bedingt in virtueller Form, zum ersten Mal den neu eingerichteten Bernstein-CorTec Preis für Computational Neuroscience und Neurotechnologie an zwei junge Nachwuchsforscherinnen, Júlia Gallinaro und Katharina Heining.
Outstanding performance in the field of hearing research
Dr. Nicole Roßkothen-Kuhl, Head of the Neurobiological Research Laboratory at the ENT Clinic, University Medical Center Freiburg and member of the Bernstein Center Freiburg, was awarded with the Meyer-zum-Gottesberge Prize 2020 of the German Society of Audiology (DGA) at the beginning of September.

August 20, 2020: Neuroscientists demonstrate how to improve communication between different regions of the brain. They have now presented their results in the journal PLoS Computational Biology.
Bernstein-Cortec Award 2020 | Call for Nominations
June 1, 2020: The newly established Bernstein-CorTec Award will be conferred for the first time in 2020. This year it will be awarded to a young researcher for outstanding scientific achievements in his/her doctoral thesis. Nominations are now being accepted.
